I Am the Good Shepherd

10 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. (A)A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” This figure of speech Jesus (B)used with them, but they (C)did not understand what he was saying to them.

So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, (D)I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, (E)he will be saved and will go in and out and (F)find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and (G)kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon's, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And (A)he sat down and taught the people from the boat. And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, (B)“Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, (C)we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And when they had done this, (D)they enclosed a large number of fish, and (E)their nets were breaking. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. (F)And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, (G)“Depart from me, for (H)I am a sinful man, O Lord.” For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, 10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.”[a]

18 (A)And behold, some men were bringing (B)on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and lay him before Jesus, 19 but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on (C)the roof and let him down with his bed (D)through the tiles into the midst before Jesus. 20 And (E)when he saw their faith, he said, “Man, (F)your sins are forgiven you.” 21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, “Who is this who speaks (G)blasphemies? (H)Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 22 When Jesus (I)perceived their thoughts, he answered them, “Why do you question in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? 24 But that you may know that (J)the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the man who was paralyzed—“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home.” 25 And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, (K)glorifying God. 26 And amazement seized them all, and they (L)glorified God and were filled (M)with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.”

(A)Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to (B)Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. (C)Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii[a] worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little.” One of his disciples, (D)Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, “There is a boy here who has five (E)barley loaves and two fish, but (F)what are they for so many?” 10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” (G)Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. 11 Jesus then took the loaves, and (H)when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” 13 So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. 14 When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, (I)“This is indeed (J)the Prophet (K)who is to come into the world!”

Jesus Heals the Sick in Gennesaret

53 (A)When they had crossed over, they came to land at (B)Gennesaret and moored to the shore. 54 And when they got out of the boat, the people immediately (C)recognized him 55 and ran about the whole region and began to bring (D)the sick people (E)on their beds to wherever they heard he was. 56 And wherever he came, in villages, cities, or countryside, (F)they laid the sick in the marketplaces and implored him that they might touch even (G)the fringe of his garment. And (H)as many as touched it were made well.

Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers

11 (A)On the way to Jerusalem (B)he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers,[a] (C)who stood at a distance 13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” 14 When he saw them he said to them, “Go and (D)show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. 15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, (E)praising God with a loud voice; 16 and (F)he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was (G)a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus answered, “Were not (H)ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Was no one found to return and (I)give praise to God except this (J)foreigner?” 19 And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; (K)your faith has (L)made you well.”[b]

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

46 (A)And they came to Jericho. And (B)as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, (C)a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. 47 And when he heard that it was (D)Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 And many (E)rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, (F)“Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” 50 And throwing off his (G)cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. 51 And Jesus said to him, (H)“What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, (I)“Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; (J)your faith has (K)made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.
